And So We Repair is an installation of sculptures created from alabaster, found wood and rusting steel. The drive toward healing is explored through materials that themselves transform under pressure or trauma. Rough and damaged surfaces are juxtaposed with smooth haptic curves that hold both light and shadow, speaking not only of loss but also of resilience and tenderness.
A rock slowly changes its form,
a tree heals a wounded limb,
us too.
Time layers over the sore; never gone
never gone, but getting quieter
buried deeper, as other happenings come along
changing our shape from how it was to how it is.
Such persistence life demands, despite ourselves,
as wounds stitch their own shape and we somehow repair
